Gentry Creek Falls

Located in Laurel Bloomery, TN
This is a very nice waterfall that will take about 4 hours round trip to hike. This trip was my 2nd successful hike to the falls. I tried about 4 years ago on Thanksgiving, but ran out of daylight. I tried again about 3 years ago in early Summer and was successful. The hike is moderate due to the fact that there are a few obstacles you must climb toward the end. These obstacles include climbing over what looks like an old beaver dam. At the end of the hike there are rocks you must climb through to get to the basin. This last time was in July of 2008, the water level was a bit low so these pictures are a little different than the ones from 3 years ago. If you decide to hike these falls, be sure to wear shoes that you do not mind getting wet as you have to cross the creek about 15 times.

A Super Memorial Day Hiking Experience
by: Marge

I went there with 8 friends on Memorial Dad of this week. It was a beautiful hike and crossing the stream as many times as we did helped cool us off as we had record heat that day. I will do this hike again and the waterfall and basin at the end is a worthwhile reward. Keen water/hiking shoes sufficed well with the wetness.

I wholeheartedly recommend this trail experience.

Great Hike
by: Diane

Hiked up to the waterfalls this weekend. It was a fairly easy hike and the waterfalls were beautiful. I took many pictures and was very impressed with how clean the trails were. The only trash I saw was one cigarette butt and I picked that up.
