North Fork Stony Creek Falls

North Fork Stony Creek Falls

It takes a bit of off-trail hiking to reach North Fork Stony Creek, but it's well worth the effort. An amazing rich woodland, a lovely amphitheater, and a great waterfall (especially in wet weather). The best approach is from Holston Mountain Trail, and it's best to bring along a GPS unit as well. Be prepared to push through some rhododendron thickets, and for some slippery footing!

(Comment from Randy)Great looking waterfall and nice photo!

Directions to the falls
by: Marty

In response to the question from "anonymous" - directions are rather complicated - too complicated to try to explain here. Your best bet would be to locate a copy of the book "Wilderness Trails of Cherokee National Forest" by Will Skelton. Or you could email me, but I'd rather not list my email address here. Go to the Warriors' Path State Park (Tennessee State Parks) website, and you can get my email from there.

Exactly how did you get to the fall. I have tried going up the road on the left , before you get into the forest land going up to ridge before you come to the AT. If you took the Holston Mountain Trail, where did you start?
