Benton Falls

Benton Falls

This waterfall, with a drop of about 65 feet, is an easy 1.75 mile hike from the Chilhowee Recreation area (park your car here). The path is well marked (blue blazed), and is slightly downhill to the falls. I couldn't get cell phone coverage, and my GPS had a few dropouts in the forest canopy area around the falls.

There are two roads to the recreation area ($3 fee is required). The easy one comes up from Hwy 64. The tough, twisty, rock/gravel/ruts road is Benton Springs Road (the one you will probably see on Google Maps). It is about 1.5 cars wide, and you will need either 4x4 or traction control. Don't try it if it has rained recently.

I apologize for the picture, but I figure something is better than nothing.
