Apple Orchard Falls

This waterfall is about a 150 ft drop and is not really near any town. The trailhead is found at mile marker 79.0 on the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Sunset Field overlook. The hike is about 1.5 miles one way with a rather severe elevation loss, the hard part is coming back up. The waterfall can be disappointing in low flow like the end of summer.

My son and I hiked this with our dog Nevaeh, she loved it. Nice trails, beautiful scenery, great observation deck just beneath the falls. We went Oct 30th and the fall colors were great, not at all disappointing. Not far from the Peaks of Otter.
