Rocky Fork Falls, Cherokee National Forest

Rocky Fork Falls (3/10/2007, 46 mm, f/22, 4 sec, ISO 100)

Description

I ran across Rocky Fork Falls while exploring the area in my Jeep.  It's right next to the road with several pullouts for trout fisherman who frequent the area.

Getting There

From I-26, take Exit 50 (old Exit 5) for Flag Pond and take US-81/23 North.  After the highway merges with Highway 352 look for Rocky Fork Rd on the left and turn on it.  The waterfall is about 1/2 mile up the road.  There are many nice cascades in the area as well.

Photo Tips

There aren't many options regarding composition, and really the waterfall isn't very photogenic so I wouldn't spend much time here.

The only caveat I have is regarding the fly fishermen.  You might get a nice photograph of one of them fishing next to the waterfall.
