Jones Branch Falls is a beautiful 100 ft tiered waterfall to visit. This would make for a nice family hike and follows part of the Appalachian Trail. To get there from Elk River Falls just walk behind the gate to the side of the parking. Follow the trail to the second clearing and then follow along the edge of the river until you reach the AP Trail. Around a 3 mile fairly easy hike.
